The Role

A DC Data Exchange Consultant works with Plan Sponsors and HR/PR vendors as they transition ongoing interface feeds containing financial and participant data for defined contributions plans transitioning to Fidelity. Your expertise and strategic approach is what allows you to meet client demands.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • This position requires a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a combination of implementation and/or 401(k) operations. The individual should have a general understanding of the retirement market, client service, implementation processes, and a demonstrated ability in the duties and responsibilities mentioned above. A detailed understanding of Fidelity and its products and services is preferred.

  • Strong organizational and operational skills and the ability to work well with internal partners. The ability to anticipate potential problems and to plan for such events.

  • Proven problem solving and client management abilities. Excellent written and oral communication skills and attention to detail.

  • A solid understanding of Fidelity proprietary systems such as FPRS, FocusPoint, TSO, PPMC and PSW.

  • Strong presentation, consulting, and negotiating skills.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, problem identification skills.

  • Strong organizational/time management skills, auditing skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Work to clarify data requirements: provide appropriate specifications, coordinate delivery of required systems configuration, and coordinate the establishment of systems interfaces.

  • Work with client (and payroll vendors as required) and internal partners to establish EDT links, PSW, and any other electronic data communication requirements. Work with internal partners and systems groups at client/payroll vendor to determine fit, discuss functionality, test connections and install into production.

  • Document the payroll specifications for the client/payroll vendor and ongoing service team.

  • Coordinate the payroll testing process with systems, review output with client/payroll vendor, and recommend changes.

  • Troubleshoot and assist in resolution of exception processing around technology gaps. Document agreed upon process.

  • Monitor payroll conversion schedule throughout the payroll conversion process. Manage to agreed upon deliverable dates and timetables.

  • Establish and test the loan and deferral feedback files and update the client on findings.

  • Coordinate creation of customized test loan and deferral feedback files for clients.

  • Manage the indicative data clean up effort with client or payroll vendor.

The Team

As part of the Implementation Team, the DEC will participate in the discovery process with the Client, Prior Recordkeeper, and Prior HR and Payroll vendor to collect all requirements vital to complete the Implementation or Corporate Action Project.
