The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily technical operations within the production floor, ensuring that all machinery and technical processes meet company standards and regulatory requirements. This role involves supervising a team of technicians, troubleshooting technical issues, and participating in process improvements to optimize production efficiency and product quality. Collaborate with engineers to lead technical projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.


Direct hire position

Hours are Sunday-Thursday; 10:50pm-7am, and OT

 

Key Responsibilities

  1. Production Supervision & Daily Management – 40%
  • Supervise a team of production technicians, providing guidance on technical and operational issues.
  • Monitor production machinery to ensure optimal performance, quality, and adherence to safety standards.
  • Conduct regular equipment inspections and oversee preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and extend machinery lifespan.
  • Train technical staff on equipment operation, troubleshooting techniques, and best practices in safety and efficiency.
  • Influence on skill-building programs to enhance the technical knowledge and performance of team members.
  • Manage performance, behaviors and establish a culture based around Schwan Cosmetics USA corporate values.
  • Deliver production supervision for all shifts and overtime as business needs dictate.
  • Execute effective shift hand-offs to ensure production continuity.
  1. Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution – 20%
  • Quickly respond to technical issues on the production floor, diagnosing problems and executing timely solutions.
  • Monitor equipment performance data to identify recurring issues and proactively address them to minimize disruptions.
  • Investigate and resolve Quality Notification in a timely manner.
  1. Process Improvement and Optimization – 15%
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and increased efficiency.
  • Examine standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions to enhance productivity.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects.
  1. Safety, Compliance and Documentation – 15%
  • Address technical activities and processes to ensure they comply with regulatory and quality standards, including OSHA, FDA, and cGMP requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, KPI’s, OEE (Operational Equipment Efficiency), and SOPs.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 14001 Standards and CSR efforts.


Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering preferred).
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing, production technical and/or engineering field within a manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or team lead capacity within a working environment.
  • Skills:
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles such as SMED, Visual Factory Management, TPM, 5S, Value Stream Mapping, and Kaizen events.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Experience with ADP or similar time and attendance systems is a plus.
  • People management skills with a focus on team development and performance improvement
  • Preferred Background: Experience in a “batch processing” or “make-to-order” manufacturing environment.
