Position: Facility Engineer-Full-Time Third Shift Salary: $18.92/Hour, Negotiable, plus shift and weekend differential, if applicable. Location: Resort Division Reports to: Facility Manager
RESUME IS REQUIRED WITH APPLICATION
In accordance with the Gaming Ordinance, all non-gaming employees whose annual income reaches $50,000 or more will be reqired to obtain and maintain a valid gaming license.
Responsibilities:
- Provide routine repairs and preventative/cleaning services to swimming pools, sauna, whirlpools, stage equipment, convention hallâ¯equipmentâ¯and cleaning equipmentâ¯in accordance withâ¯â¯ organizational and/or manufacturer requirements.â¯
- Provide routine repairs and preventative/cleaning services to environmental controls which include air exchange filters, smoke eater filters, and air ducts.â¯â¯
- Repair and/or replace light bulbs and water filters as needed.â¯â¯â¯â¯
- Observe, document, and repair any damage or defects found throughout routine inspections/evaluations of the property throughout the work shift.â¯â¯
- Accurately enter information into departmental recordsâ¯on scheduleâ¯determinedâ¯by the facilities manager and/or department directorâ¯to document dates and times in which preventive and/or repair services were provided to which systems, components, or fixtures throughout the property.â¯
- Make recommendations to the facilities managerâ¯on a schedule asâ¯determinedâ¯by the facilities manager and/or department director.â¯
- Must be able to continuouslyâ¯demonstrateâ¯the ability to work independently with little or no supervisionâ¯in addition to completing assigned tasksâ¯within theâ¯timeframeâ¯allottedâ¯by the facilities manager and/or department director.â¯
- Must be reliable and prompt when reporting to work.â¯
- Mustâ¯maintainâ¯an acceptable departmental attendance record.â¯
- Mustâ¯wear the approved departmental uniform.â¯
- Must be able toâ¯performâ¯the physical requirements of the job.â¯
- Must adhere to all established rules, regulations, procedures, and policies of North Star Mohican Casino Resort and the Maintenance Department.â¯

Qualifications & Education:
- Mustâ¯have at least two years of commercialâ¯tradesâ¯experience in one of the following fields:⯠construction, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, millwright, electronics, or general building maintenance.â¯
- Applicant may be asked to complete and pass aâ¯basic trades math test.â¯
- Must have above-average carpentry, finishing and general construction skills.â¯
- Must be task-oriented,â¯self-motivated,â¯andâ¯workâ¯from written directions, assemblyâ¯instructionsâ¯and/or shop drawings independently and within time constraintsâ¯indicated.â¯
- Must be able toâ¯demonstrateâ¯the ability to read and understand basic assembly instructions and architectural/shop drawings as they relate to commercial buildings, mechanicals, equipment assembly, and basic electronics.â¯
- Must be able toâ¯demonstrateâ¯effective knowledge ofâ¯allâ¯job-related tools.â¯
- Mustâ¯beâ¯toâ¯demonstrateâ¯basic computer skills, such as how to log onto a central computer system and navigate through a series ofâ¯menus andâ¯enter daily activities in a computerized format.â¯
- Mustâ¯be able toâ¯demonstrateâ¯effective problem-solving abilities.â¯
Physical Requirements/ Work Conditions:
- Frequently walk, sit, stand, use hands to handle or feel,â¯reach withâ¯hands andâ¯arms,â¯and talk and hear.â¯
- Must have the manual dexterity to handle all job-related tools, including measuring tools.â¯
- Must be able toâ¯lift and/or move up to sixty (60) pounds on a regular basis, occasionally work in uncomfortably hot or cold environments,â¯stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl in awkward/crampedâ¯â¯
- positions,â¯climb stairs/ladders, maneuver on scaffoldingâ¯and/or scissor liftsâ¯at various heights,â¯andâ¯work on rooftops.â¯
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision and depth perception and the ability to adjust and focus; with the aid of prescription glasses/contacts, if needed.â¯
- Work isâ¯generally performedâ¯in a workshop and/or casino setting with a moderate to higher noise level and where cigarette smoke is prevalent.â¯
- Workâ¯environment requires excellent personal hygiene,â¯due to workingâ¯nearâ¯others.â¯
- The work environment is non-smoking and dust-free; and noise levels may vary depending on location and work area.â¯
