Colorant Coordinator Engineering
Summary:
Perform a variety of duties related to the development of a cost efficient, capable process for new and existing molds providing technical expertise on molds and processes.
Duties:
1. Perform Daily walk through at start and end of shift to verify all presses for resin and color.
2. Marking sure all resin is ready for startups and setup for startups at start of next shift.
3. Clean the work area-perform line clearings.
4. See what all mold changes and color changes are going to happen in your day.
5. Start staging and checking all dryers so changeovers flow more smoothly.
6. During a changeover all previous material must be removed and returned to the materials crib properly labeled and weights on them.
7. Blenders and hoppers cleaned for next material; also make sure all material is cleaned off the back of the press and from around the blender and off the entire floor.
8. If purge compound is needed get it ready to be loaded and start purging out the barrel on the press, if purge compound is needed to be ran through the mold get with process tech to purge the mold.
9. Get next material ready to be loaded if dried, if not dried blender loaded and ready to be turned on and labeled properly.
10. Once everything is ready to be loaded (Blender, hopper, and press are labeled) fill out your part of the line-clearance sheet.
11. During your day make sure all dryers and surge bins are full, gaylords are not empty, there is no material on the floor, and everything is in its place.
12. Any gaylords or material bins with ¼ or less remaining in them combine them with a new gaylord of material.
13. Clean the production area and maintain in an orderly, safe condition.
14. Train other employees as required.
15. Participate in training.
16. Communicate issues effectively and professionally.
17. Assist in the operation of the production area by handling material, making boxes, giving breaks as needed.
18. Must safely operate a forklift to move gaylords of material.
19. Other duties as required.
Supervisory Responsibility:
I understand I have the authority to conduct my job as defined in this job description and in the event that a portion of my duties cannot be achieved, I have the authority to bring this matter to the attention of my immediate Supervisor/Manager.
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Previous injection molding experience preferred.
Excellent Attendance record
Excellent Safety record
Excellent Performance record
Must follow all safety rules and wear required PPE.
