Role Overview: 3DE School Director

The 3DE School Director serves as the on-site leader, advocate, and driver of the 3DE model within a high school. This role is responsible for ensuring strong implementation, building stakeholder buy-in, and leading the day-to-day execution of 3DE programming. While you are part of a broader 3DE and Junior Achievement network, this is a highly autonomous yet collaborative leadership role. The School Director is the primary champion for 3DE in the building, responsible for advocating for the model, influencing school culture, and ensuring successful outcomes for students and teachers.

The School Director leads implementation across classrooms and grade levels, facilitates teacher growth through structured collaboration and professional development, and ensures the successful execution of complex student experiences, including high-impact culminating events. This role requires a proactive leader who is comfortable working independently, navigating ambiguity, and building strong partnerships across educators, administrators, and business stakeholders. This role is primarily based in a single school setting, requiring a high level of independence and ownership.

Core Responsibilities

  • School Leadership & Model Implementation:
    • Lead and own the implementation of the 3DE instructional model within the school, ensuring fidelity and continuous improvement
    • Serve as the primary advocate for 3DE, building alignment with school leadership, staff, students, and families
    • Monitor student engagement and outcomes, using data to identify gaps and drive strategic improvements
    • Develop and execute strategies to meet enrollment, retention, and program quality goals
    • Ensure all instructional systems, tools, and structures are effectively used by teachers and students
  • Teacher Collaboration & Professional Development:
    • Plan and deliver ongoing professional development for teachers and staff, including: instructional best practices (case method, competency-based education), classroom culture, and student engagement strategies
    • Provide support to teachers to strengthen instruction and ensure consistency across classrooms
    • Facilitate regular PLC meetings that include: Lesson and case planning, student work analysis, data reflection and action planning, instructional strategy development
    • Build teacher leadership capacity and foster ownership within the 3DE team
  • Event Management & Coordination:
    • Plan, manage, and execute events that serve as guaranteed student experiences
    • Coordinate logistics for events, including: business partner engagement, scheduling and space planning, student preparation, and school coordination
    • Ensure events are high-quality, engaging, and aligned with learning outcomes
    • Prepare students to successfully present, collaborate, and engage with professionals
    • Continuously evaluate and improve event execution processes
  • Relationship Building & Stewardship:
    • Build strong relationships with school leaders, teachers, students, families, and business partners
    • Create a culture of belonging, engagement, and high expectations within the 3DE cohort
    • Ensure business volunteers and partners have a meaningful, well-organized experience
    • Represent and promote 3DE within the school and broader community
  • Operations & Data Management:
    • Collect, analyze, and use data to drive decisions related to implementation, student progress, and model fidelity
    • Manage multiple priorities, timelines, and projects simultaneously
    • Establish systems and structures that support long-term sustainability of the 3DE model
    • Configure and maintain the 3DE learning environment to support collaboration and engagement

Desired Experience

  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree required
  • Leadership Experience:
    • Middle or High school classroom teaching experience, minimum of 5 years; comparable nonprofit experience as a program coordinator/manager is also acceptable
  • Data-Driven Decision Making:
    • Experience using data to inform strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Relationship Building:
    • Proven track record of successful relationship building and management with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Time Management:
    • Experience organizing multiple projects and competing priorities while effectively managing time
