Bell Flavors & Fragrances is seeking a Material Handler to join our Manufacturing team in Northbrook, IL. This position plays an important role in supporting production by moving raw materials, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring materials are available for compounding and related production activities.
The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, safety-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse and production environment.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM, overtime as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Retrieve raw materials from the warehouse and deliver them to the compounding area based on production needs.
- Accurately transfer materials between warehouse and production locations using ERP systems and handheld barcode scanners.
- Return raw materials to warehouse locations after use and help maintain inventory accuracy.
- Follow FEFO inventory practices and support cycle counting activities.
- Replenish materials, solutions, PG, and ethanol alcohol totes used in production.
- Assist with batch processing, resampling, and submitting materials to Quality Control as needed.
- Pull samples for raw materials and finished goods evaluations.
- Operate material handling equipment, including forklifts and handheld barcode scanners.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Follow all company safety policies, GMPs, SOPs, and food safety requirements.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Three months of related experience and/or training preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing experience preferred.
- Forklift or material handling equipment experience preferred.
- Ability to read and understand English instructions, labels, safety information, reports, and training materials.
- Ability to use computers and warehouse management systems.
- Must be able to understand and follow SOPs, SSOPs, GMPs, and job-specific work instructions.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to push, pull, twist, climb step ladders, and perform repetitive material handling tasks.
- Comfortable working around moving mechanical parts and chemicals.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, overtime, and weekends as needed.
