Position Overview
Invent Learning Hub ILH is seeking a nurturing, energetic, and highly effective 2nd Grade Teacher who believes in building strong foundational skills while fostering curiosity and confidence in young learners. The ideal candidate understands that second grade is a critical year for developing reading fluency, mathematical understanding, and independent learning habits.
This educator will create a structured, joyful, and academically rigorous classroom environment aligned to Indiana Academic Standards and grounded in ILHs commitment to growth, innovation, and whole-child development.

Essential Responsibilities
Instruction & Curriculum
Plan and deliver engaging standards-aligned instruction in reading, writing, math, science, and social studies. Strengthen foundational literacy skills, including phonics, fluency, comprehension, vocabulary, and writing development. Build strong number sense and problem-solving skills in mathematics. Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners, including students with IEPs and English Learners. Use formative and summative assessment data to guide instruction and monitor progress. Incorporate hands-on learning, inquiry, and interactive activities to promote engagement.
Classroom Culture
Establish and maintain a structured, safe, and positive classroom environment. Build strong relationships with students and families. Foster independence, responsibility, and a love of learning. Maintain high expectations for both academic achievement and character development.
Assessment & Intervention
Monitor student progress regularly and provide targeted interventions as needed. Participate in MTSS processes and collaborate with support staff. Prepare students for end-of-year benchmarks and long-term academic success.
Collaboration & Professional Growth
Collaborate with grade-level team members to plan instruction and share best practices. Participate actively in professional development and instructional coaching. Communicate regularly and professionally with families regarding student progress. Contribute positively to ILHs collaborative and mission-driven culture.
