Posting: 27-1-4 Posted: June 1, 2026 Dartmouth Public Schools Dartmouth, Massachusetts NOTICE OF POSITION VACANCY Position Posting: Dartmouth Middle School Asso ciate Principal Starting Date: July 1, 20 26 Salary Scale : $121,618 - $142,076 Requirements : • Master's degree from an accredited college or university. • A valid MA certificate to serve as a high school principal/ assistant principal or equivalent. • At least five (5) years successful experience in teaching and/or school administration preferably at the middle or high school level . • Experience working with high school age students. • Background and experience in aligning curriculum with stat e standards. • Background and experience administering various assessments including but not limited to MCAS . • Background and experience leading effective teams, analy zing data, and facilitating school improvement planning and professional development. • Backg round and experience using the Massachusetts Educator Evaluation System. • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as may be applicable. Minimum Qualifications: •Masters degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university; educationbackground should include courses in educational administration, supervision, and childdevelopment.•A valid license as a school principal/assistant school principal issued by theMassachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education•At least five (5) years of successful experience tea ching and/or school administration.•Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate.Reports to : Middle School Principal Supervises: 1. Under the supervision of the Principal, the Associate Principal will have the authority to perform all of the responsibilities o f the Middle School Principal subject to the approval of the Middle School Principal and the Superintendent of Schools. Prim ary responsibilities of the A ssocia te Principal will be: •To assume the duties and responsibilities of the Middle School Principal in their absence.•To oversee MCAS (and all responsibilities associated wi th the administration of such exams), and analysis of data. February 2025 •To assist the Principal with grant-funded programs, the NEASC accreditatio n process,community ou treach, the effective partnership with the SRO, various reports as requestedby the Superintendent and evaluations.•To support the Assistant Principals with student discipline and t o work w ith th e AssistantPrincipals to develop a constructivist approach to student discipline.•To collaborate with district leaders and when appropriate to assume duties related towriting and oversight of high school grants.•To collaborate with stakeholders in the development of the School Improvement Plan.•To collaborate with district and building-b ased educators to develop and align curriculumto state standards and make adjustments in alignment with the curriculum revision cycleand School Improvement Plan (SIP).•To chair instructional and leadership t eam meetings and collaborate with lead teachersregarding departmental PLC's and common planning time (CPT).•To collaborate with Central Office and building administrators to provide professionaldevelopment.•To perform any other duties as assigned or requested by the Middle School Principal.Terms of E mployment : The work year shall cons ist of 217 days; i.e., the 182 days that school is in session plus thirty -five (35) additional day s as determined by the Principal subject to the review and approval of the Superintendent. Salary and working conditions as established in the Agreement between the Dartmouth A dministrators A ssociation (DAA) and the Dartmouth S c hool Committee. Evaluation: Performance will be evaluated by the Middle School Principal in accordance with the provisions and procedures established in the DAA contract.
