Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist Profession: Respiratory Therapy Specialty: Respiratory Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience preferred License: RT or RCP License required Certifications: BLS required, Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Certification required Must-Have: RT or RCP License in state of employment required BLS required via AHA Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by NBRC required Description: Responsible for the pulmonary care of critical, non-critical, and chronically ill adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients under the direction of a physician with minimal supervision. Performs patient assessments and institutes respiratory care plans. Performs various technical and diagnostic respiratory therapy procedures in all areas of the facility. Meets expectations of the applicable competencies. Includes emergency response, airway management, delivery of aerosolized drugs, and ventilator management. Participates in emergency response and airway support device management. Conducts oxygen delivery and therapeutic monitoring, blood gas collection and analysis, and accurate documentation. Cleans and restocks equipment and supplies as necessary. Participates in surveys as required. May function as Shift Leader or Team Leader. Advanced practice skills may include therapeutic gas management, pulmonary function testing, and assistance with bronchoscopy. Transport duties may be required.
