PRIMARY PURPOSE
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the core academic subject area assigned to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Instructional Strategies
Develop and implement lesson plans aligned to the district curriculum and provide written evidence of preparation, including accommodations for individual student needs.
Use appropriate instructional strategies, materials, and equipment aligned to TEA, board policy, and administrative guidelines.
Assess student learning styles and use results to inform instruction.
Collaborate with special education staff to modify curriculum based on IEP requirements.
Work with staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods.
Assign and oversee work of instructional aides and volunteers.
Student Growth and Development
Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal methods.
Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned.
Serve as a positive role model and support the district mission.
Classroom Management and Organization
Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and student development.
Manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct.
Ensure safety of students, equipment, and facilities.
Assist in selecting instructional materials and equipment.
Maintain all required records and documentation.
Communication

Participate in professional development activities.
Comply with all district, campus, and state policies.
Attend meetings and serve on committees as required.
