SUMMARY: Plan instruction and assessment for supplemental enrichment lessons in Spanish language (speaking, listening, reading, writing) and culture. Assist the licensed teacher in supervising students during enrichment lessons and in maintaining a positive learning environment. Work with the licensed teacher to adapt enrichment lessons to meet the individual learning needs of all students. Maintain positive inter-personal relationships with students, parents, sta? and community members.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability Utilize e?ective teaching strategies to teach supplemental enrichment lessons in Spanish language (speaking, listening, reading, writing) and culture. Work with the licensed teacher to modify and tailor the enrichment lessons as necessary to address individual student di?erences, learning styles, and student abilities.
ADDITIONAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION AND TRAINING
Minimum: High School Diploma or GED.
EXPERIENCE
Experience working with youth and facilitating lessons is preferred but may not be necessary for hiring. Advanced ability to connect the learning of the language with the learning of the culture.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS
Minimum requirement is a Colorado Substitute Authorization from the Colorado Department of Education. Ability to demonstrate pro?ciency in the Spanish language in speaking, listening, reading and writing.
