MAJOR FUNCTION: Under the supervision of the occupational therapist, COTA will implement the developed therapy plan to increase the student's ability to participate in the educational process.
REQUIREMENTS: A. Valid certificate issued by the appropriate Indiana Licensing Board for
COTA
B. Demonstrate ability to follow developed therapy plans
C. Work collaboratively with the school staff, medical professionals and
parents.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Contract for school year, follow school calendar and school hours where office is located. All other working terms and conditions of employment are established by the Board of Managers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Perform all duties of the COTA functions as required by the NISEC including:
A. Communicate accurate and reliable information to the Occupational Therapist and document as required
B. Participate with the Occupational Therapist in the students evaluation, program planning and therapy intervention
C. At the direction of the Occupational Therapist, consult with parents, teachers, and other related services personnel about the students progress
D. Participate in developing and presenting in-services for appropriate school staff, parents and community
E. Attend case conferences to review evaluation results, provide feedback concerning the students program and relate possible occupational therapy goals and objectives
F. Participate in the discussion concerning individual educational plans for OT services and maintain and update information in all student files
G. Demonstrate collaborative efforts with teachers, parents and other staff when delivering services
H. Attend staffing meetings, in-services, and workshops as requested

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board of Managers policy on evaluation of confidential personnel.
