Chappaqua CSD is looking for a thoughtful and knowledgeable educator to serve in the anticipated probationary position of Science (Biology) Teacher at Robert E. Bell Middle School beginning September 2, 2026.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- Familiar with NYS Science Standards and uses them for unit and lesson plan development.
- Translates lesson plans into learning experiences to develop pertinent sequential assignments, challenge students, and best utilize available time for instruction/
- Fosters a welcoming classroom environment that nurtures emotional well-being and a sense of belonging.
- Uses formative assessments to gauge student understanding.
- Has experience with evidence-based social-emotional learning strategies to promote emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of the RULER approach is preferred.
- Uses knowledge of students and student performance when planning lessons.
- Infuses culturally relevant practices to ensure that lessons reflect the diverse backgrounds and experiences of all students.
- Integrates diverse perspectives and voices into instructional materials and resources to broaden students' understanding of the world.
- Maintains high expectations for all students.
- Engages in regular, collaborative professional development with the understanding that team efficacy is greater than individual efforts alone.
