This position provides leadership for the school's entire athletic program, focusing on developing and improving coached sports.
Essential duties include managing a full varsity schedule, enforcing athletic standards per MSHSAA, supervising students during practices and games, maintaining equipment and facilities, and promoting sportsmanship and ethical conduct.
The coach is responsible for record-keeping, recognizing achievements, collaborating with administration, and fostering professional growth through clinics and training.
Key responsibilities also include player development, fundraising, program promotion, supervising assistant coaches, setting performance goals, and highlighting student-athletes' academic and athletic accomplishments.
The role requires a college degree or coaching experience, completion of MSHSAA/NFHS courses, and a strong commitment to student-athletes.
The physical demands involve mobility and lifting, with employment as a seasonal, stipend-based position.
