Job Title: PEIMS and Student Data Manager

Reports to: Coor. of PEIMS/Student Data

Dept./School: PEIMS department

Exemption Status: Exempt / 226 days

Salary calculations will be commensurate with job experience.

Primary Purpose:

Manage and assist PEIMS personnel in supporting campuses in maintaining accurate attendance, scheduling, and mark reporting records. Manage and assist PEIMS personnel with the collection and verification of all elementary Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS) data.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

High school diploma or GED

Bachelor Degree Preferred

Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Ability to use personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets and do word processing

Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Ability to maintain accurate and auditable records

Ability to analyze, problem solve, and meet established deadlines

Proficient keyboarding, and file maintenance skills

Knowledge of PEIMS preferred

Experience:

Two years of experience in a support position requiring collecting and entering data; experience using coding systems preferred.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Support the PEIMS Coordinator in the collection, verification, and submission of PEIMS, OCR, and TSDS Core Collection data according to required data standards.

  2. Manage and support the collection of attendance data and assist in supporting the Student information system.

  3. Run edits, reports, and verification checks on data to ensure accuracy of information.

  4. Manage the preparation and printing of reports, including attendance reports, grades, class or personnel rosters, end-of-semester reports, or accounting reports.

  5. Manage and assist in training campus staff on attendance procedures and letters.

  6. Manage the support of the elementary scheduling processes including Master Schedule and elementary student scheduling.

  7. Create and maintain the Attendance Procedure Manual for the district.

  8. Work cooperatively with Special Education and the elementary campuses to collect and format PK and EE data for the PEIMS submission.

  9. Manage and assign Unique IDs in the Texas Student Data System for students.

  10. Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required.

  11. Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy.

  12. Attend conferences and workshops to remain current on state and federal reporting and software issues.

  13. Comply with court orders to fulfill subpoena requests.

  14. Manage the additions, removals, and changes to staff assignments in the SIS.

  15. Maintain confidentiality.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Evaluate the Student Data Clerk and the Student Data Specialist
