The Assistant Coach is responsible for supporting all duties associated with successful coaching at the college level.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills to be a positive role model and representative of the university.

Responsibilities include:

  • Coach and demonstrate high level advanced technical and tactical skills of position players
  • Identify and recruit athletically and academically qualified student-athletes
  • Assist with planning, scheduling, and supervision of practices and games
  • Assist with team travel planning
  • Monitor academic progress and promote student-athlete well-being
  • Ensure program compliance with all NCAA, PSAC, and University rules
  • Utilize Teamworks Software for administrative and compliance tasks
  • Video breakdown and analysis
  • Organize and administer camps and clinics
  • Support alumni relations and community service events
  • Organize and support fundraising events
  • Travel for recruiting and competition
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Collegiate or professional playing experience
  • Experience coaching position players and hitters
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends
  • Ability to travel regularly to recruiting events

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience coaching at the collegiate level
  • Experience recruiting at the collegiate level
  • Experience monitoring academic progress of student athletes
  • Experience planning and administering camps and clinics
  • Experience fundraising at the collegiate level
  • Experience using baseball platforms including Synergy, AWRE, and Trackman
  • Experience using recruitment software including Teamwork's

Special Instructions

Salary and benefits are dictated by the Association of Pennsylvania State College and University Faculties (APSCUF) Non-Faculty Coaches Collective Bargaining Agreement.

This position requires the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends and to travel regularly to recruiting events.
