Position Summary

The shift for the position is Monday to Friday, 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.

The custodial team leader will delegate the authority to prioritize work within the assigned area to maintain departmental work standards, work assignments, cleaning policies and procedure goals and objectives. This position requires you to make decisions based on a full knowledge of these guidelines. Deviations from these guidelines must be reported and/or approved by supervisor or management.

As a member of the Facilities Divisional staff, this position is deemed essential. Essential employees must remain or report to work during partial or full day closings of the University due to hazardous road conditions, emergency circumstances or for other reasons.

Minimum Qualifications

  • One year as a Custodial Worker 1 (commonwealth title) OR;
  • One year of experience performing custodial work

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of the materials, methods, and practices used in custodial work
  • Knowledge of aseptic and sanitation materials hazards and safety guidelines
  • Ability to read and understand written materials
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships

Special Instructions

Salary and benefits are dictated by the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) collective bargaining agreement.
