Assess students with psychosocial cognitiveperceptual sensory processing impairments andphysical disabilities and determine eligibility for services.2. Plan and provide direct and consultative services consistent with the student&rsquos Individual EducationPlans IEP.3. Participate in the Admission Review and Dismissal ARD Committee regarding interpretation ofassessment data appropriate placement and goal setting for students with visual disabilitiesaccording to district procedures.4. Evaluate student progress and determine readiness for termination of instructional services forvision.5. Design construct alter equipment and provide students with adaptive equipment and devices topromote maximum independence.6. Consult with educational staff regarding the use of specialized equipment materials andtechniques.7. Adapt or recommend adaptation of the school environment.8. Consult with staff regarding the need for providing instructional materials to students with visualimpairments well in advance of classroom instruction to allow for translation into braille.9. Provide staff development training in assigned schools to assist school personnel in understandingstudents with visual impairments and adaptations that may be needed in the classroom setting.10. Compose reports that meet established standards of practice and complete reports with specifiedtimelines.11. Compile maintain and file all reports records and other documents as required by federal andstate rules and regulations and district policy and procedures.12.
