2026-27 Instructional Coach, Student Services

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's and/or Master's degree. Arizona Teacher Certification. Bachelor's and/or Master's degree. Arizona Teacher Certification. Must be highly qualified to teach special education. Valid Arizona Department of Public Safety fingerprint clearance card.

REPORTS TO: Executive Director of Student Services

JOB GOAL: To increase special education student academic achievement by providing support and coaching for teachers.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Increases special education student achievement by supporting effective instructional practices
• Assists special education teachers in utilizing district-adopted instructional programs
• Leads and supports special education teachers in progress monitoring student achievement
• Provides professional development related to effective instructional practices for special education students
• Provides instructional coaching through modeling, co-teaching, observing, feedback
• Supports special education teachers in meeting the expectations of the Learning Observation Instrument
• Plans and facilitates professional development related to Student Services goals
• Conducts informal classroom observations to support Student Services goals
• Attends necessary meetings and trainings pertinent to improving student achievement
• Supports intervention practices to improve student behavior
• Supports integration of technology
• Supports Common Core implementation
• Performs other duties as assigned

• To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet and District software, preferred accounting used software and Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, and other appropriate technology software).
• Knowledge of appropriate business machines and telephones.
• Monitor special system(s), not limited to, including security and fire alarm systems.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

• Ten-month, full time, employee pay and benefits in accordance with Board policy.
• FLSA: Exempt
