ROLE & PURPOSE To assist in the preparation of the instructional programming support the development of brailleled materials for students with visual impairments and collaborate with the vision department as student needs arise.

QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATION CERTIFICATION High School Diploma EXPERIENCESchool-based experience preferred Valid drivers license preferred

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

I. INSTRUCTIONAL MANAGEMENT

Take initiative to assist the vision teachers braillist and other colleagues within the vision department Support the development of materials braille and instructional programing Deliver vision teacher determined support and services in assigned instructional setting or campus Perform designated ordering of materials for the vision department tracking use of funds Maintain a detailed inventory of all instructional materials technology items to be maintained or salvaged and newly purchased items.

II. SCHOOLORGANIZATIONAL CLIMATE

Work cooperatively with special education coordinator vision team special education teachers therapists and regular education teachers to ensure the success and safety of the students Participate in specialized training to improve skills needed to successfully complete responsibilities for the specialized program assigned Work alongside Braillist to support the development and crafting of braille and tactile graphics Consult with the vision team leader and special education coordinator on all general administration items including personnel policies.

III. SCHOOLORGANIZATIONAL IMPROVEMENT

Follow an established schedule - maintain a online calendar shared with supervisor and vision team leader Interact with students team members and other employees of the district professionally calmly communicating effectively orally and in writing.

IV. ADMINISTRATION & FISCALFACILITIES MANAGEMENT

Operate copy and laminating machines computer and audio-visual equipment Maintain organization and cleanliness in the office Take initiative to organize store and/or prepare student learning and instructional materials Utilize scheduling and time management techniques in order to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.

V. STUDENT MANAGEMENT

Assist teacher in implementing social emotional academic functional and positively based interventions for teaching replacement behaviors including use of reinforcement consequences visual systems for shaping behavior organizational structures for student learning and success Assist the teacher in safe navigation and transfer procedures for students SHARS MAC RMTS Participate in the districts Medicaid initiatives Arlington ISD participates in the School Health and Related Services SHARS and MAC programs which allows the district to request Medicaid reimbursement for certain health-related services provided The ARDIEP committee determines SHARS services SHARS Providers Train provide and document billable SHARS direct medical services provided to students with SHARS services ordered in their IEPRMTS If selected participate in Random Moment in Time Study RMTS MAC Directly support the provision of services covered under the Texas Medicaid State Plan provide or supervise direct medical services care such as personal care medical care escorting and/or feeding of students as stated in the IEP

VI. SCHOOLCOMMUNITY RELATIONS

Assist with community learning experiences field trips and necessary interpretation if appropriate Maintain confidentiality of student information disabilities and services

VII. PROFESSIONAL GROWTH & DEVELOPMENT

Attend scheduled staff and in-service meetings Stay abreast of current research in the field of education Attend required conferences and training.

VIII. OTHER DUTIES

Any other responsibilities as designated by the Special Education Coordinator and/or Director of Special Education.
