Primary Purpose:
Support the efficient receiving, processing, inventory management, and distribution of textbooks. Ensure accurate tracking, organization, and timely delivery of instructional materials. During non-peak textbook periods, assist with campus or departmental needs.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- High school diploma or GED
- Satisfactory fingerprinting background check (employee-paid fee)
Experience:
- Inventory, warehouse, or retail experience preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Textbook Operations & Inventory
- Receive, verify, and process incoming textbook shipments
- Barcode newly adopted textbooks and update inventory systems
- Sort, store, and organize materials according to established procedures
- Prepare and distribute textbooks for delivery to campuses
- Maintain accurate inventory records; perform periodic counts and resolve discrepancies
- Process requisitions and coordinate stock replenishment
Records Management
- Maintain physical and electronic files and inventory records
- Prepare materials for retention, purging, or digitization
- Compile reports and data as needed
Logistics Support
- Coordinate delivery timelines and assist with distribution
- Track items on loan, repair, or temporary assignment
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all safety procedures when operating equipment and handling materials
- Identify and report unsafe conditions
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working order
Other Duties
- Support campus or departmental needs during non-peak textbook periods
- Maintain confidentiality of student and district information
- Perform other duties as assigned
Working Conditions:
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting (up to 50 lbs daily)
- Work in warehouse, stockroom, and occasional outdoor environments
- Regular use of computers and standard office/warehouse equipment
- May require irregular hours during peak periods
