CTE Technology and Engineering Education Teacher

Are you passionate about teaching in Career and Technical Education? Montgomery County Public Schools in Virginia is now accepting applications for a Career and Technical Education (CTE) Technology and Engineering teacher position that is available at Blacksburg Middle School for SY 2026-2027.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Teach Technology and Engineering Education courses to middle school/high school students based on current industry standards and state curriculum
  • Advise the co-curricular Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO), Technology Students of America (TSA)
  • Manage technology and curriculum
  • Document and maintain student competency records
  • Work cooperatively with others in the education setting
  • Prepare students for employment or further education

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Hold or be eligible for a Virginia Teacher's License with appropriate endorsement to teach Technology Education
  • Experience in curriculum development and developing lesson plans
  • Experience using technology in the classroom
  • Ability to create an inclusive learning environment
  • Experience or working familiarity with Google Drive for instruction, collaboration, and coursework
  • Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and families
  • Ability to be dependable and punctual
  • Ability to teach about a wide range of technological systems, engineering, and design-oriented solutions, preparing them to be technologically literate.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous teaching experience in Technology and Engineering Education
  • Experience with TSA or other STEM-related student organizations
  • Technical knowledge and ability in various technological and engineering practices
  • Master's degree in a technology, engineering, or related field
  • Eligibility and experience with dual enrollment

FLSA Status: Exempt

SALARY: $55,473.97 - $89,546.14 annually, with benefits; commensurate with experience (salary may change due to 2026-2027 budget considerations)
