Job Summary
- Teach all subjects and other appropriate learning activities according to local curriculum requirements and a course of study set by grade level teachers, as adopted by Board of Trustees. • Instruct pupils in citizenship, communication skills, and other general elements of the course of study specified in state law and administrative regulations and procedures of the school district. • Provide planned learning experiences in order to motivate pupils and best utilize instruction time. • Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and provide individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil. • Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere. • Evaluate pupils'' academic and social growth, keep appropriate records, prepare progress reports, and communicate with parents on the individual pupil''s progress. • Identify pupils'' needs and cooperate with other professional staff members in assessing and helping pupils solve health, attitude and learning problems. • Create a functional and attractive environment for learning through displays, bulletin boards, and interest centers. • Maintain professional competence through participation in in-service education activities provided by the district and/or self-selected professional growth activities. • Perform basic attendance accounting and business records as required. • Provide adequate supervision of students during recess / nutrition, lunchtime, before and after school and while loading and unloading buses, as needed.
