Instructional AssistantSPED Personal Care RNLocation Paradise Valley High School9 months 6 hoursdayGrade 31Step 31 32.23hourNon-Interim PositionStart date ImmediatePurpose StatementThe Personal Care Register Nurse is responsible for the care of an individual student.the exact needs of the student will be discussed in the interview.They are required to hold a valid RN license and will work with the Special Education Department to ensure all IEP requirements are followed.Essential FunctionsAssist in the care of the student in accordance with the students care plan.Maintains information about the health and developmental status of students.Supports nursing care plans with specific goals and interventions delineating school nursing action unique to student&rsquos needs.Manages student behavior for the purpose of providing a safe and optimal learning environment.Documents nursing care via computer program.Participates in a variety of meetings e.g. staff district IEPs 504&rsquos etc. for the purpose of conveying andor gathering medical and health-related datainformation required to perform functions related to student.Reports studentschool health and safety status to assigned administrator and appropriate agencies e.g. fights suspected child or substance abuse inappropriate social behaviors etc. for the purpose of maintaining student personal safety a positive learning environment and complying with regulatory requirements and established guidelines.Responds to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns andor directing to appropriate personnelagency for resolution.Maintains current knowledge in the area of specialization.Supports goals and objective of the school and district.Job Requirements Minimum QualificationsSkills Knowledge and AbilitiesSKILLS are required to perform multiple highly complex technical tasks with a need to periodically upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditionsstudent health needs.
