Job Title: Instructional Specialist - Math (Secondary focus) Wage/Hour Status: Exempt Reports to: Executive Director of Teaching & Learning Pay Grade: AP3 Dept./School: Teaching & Learning/Central Office Length of Contract: 10.5 mos. Revised Date: 3/24/2024

Primary Purpose: The purpose of an Instructional Coach is to improve teaching and learning by transforming the culture in which:

• teaching is transparent and is the focus among professionals. • planning for instruction is thorough, collaborative, and pedagogically sound. • conversations about improving instruction are constant, data-driven, and purposeful.

Instructional Coaches will support campus instructional staff in lesson internalization and differentiation, instructional best practices, understanding of content, data analysis, and overall improvement in teaching and learning based on TEKS.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification: Bachelors Degree Masters Degree preferred

Special Knowledge/Skills: • Knowledge of curriculum, instruction, and assessment • Ability to organize, coordinate, and facilitate instruction • Ability to interpret data • Ability to provide ongoing, targeted professional development • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Experience: Three years experience as a classroom teacher Supervisory or leadership experience preferred

Policy, Reports, and Law: Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy.

General Employee Requirements: Support and align work with the mission, vision, and beliefs of the district. Follow and support board policies in areas of related responsibility. Ensure district resources are managed effectively to maximize resources for student learning. Share in the development and implementation of district success plans.
