Primary Purpose:
Direct and manage the information systems and computer services, and cybersecurity programs to protect district data, systems, and users. Ensure efficient and effective access to information and related technology by all campuses and administrative departments.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's degree (required)
Proven experience leading and supervising an IT/Technology team (required)
CCNP/ACNP (preferred)
Knowledge:
Network infrastructure: LA/WAN/Wi-Fi design, switching/routing, VoIP, Internet connectivity
Systems & cloud: servers, virtualization, directory services (ex. AD), backup/DR, cloud services (Microsoft 365/Google)
Cybersecurity: firewalls, endpoint protection, identity/MFA, patching, vulnerability management, incident response, security awareness training
Data & applications: SIS/ERP systems, integrations, databases, data privacy and governance
Compliance & policy: FERPA, records retention, acceptable use, vendor/security requirements, audits
Skills:
Strategic planning: create and execute a district technology plan aligned to instructional/operational goals
Project management: lead deployments (network refresh, device rollouts, security improvements) on time and on budget
Leadership & supervision: hire, train, evaluate, coach, and prioritize staff work across campuses
Communication: explain technical topics clearly to executives, principals, staff, students, and vendors
Problem-solving under pressure: outage response, cybersecurity events, rapid triage and root-cause analysis
Experience:
Five years experience in supervision and management of computer services, communications and
network systems for a large organization
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Technology and Information Management
Assist schools and administrative departments to develop and implement plans to address network and technology needs, including evaluation of hardware and software.
Develop and implement a districtwide Cyber Security networking plan.
Coordinate support between the education service center and district staff, including programming, application support, and end-user support.
Manage, direct, and assign priorities and personnel to projects to ensure attainment of department goals and objectives.
Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of all computer hardware and software throughout the district.
Develop and implement a disaster recovery and backup plan for all district technology related services.
Assist with the implementation of staff development in the area of information management and technology; make presentations as needed.
Analyze data and use monitoring tools to spot trends and mitigate attacks.
Serve as the District Cybersecurity Coordinator; develop, implement, and monitor districtwide cybersecurity practices, including staff training and security awareness.
Policy, Reports, and Law
Implement the policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy in the area of technology.
Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required.
Budget and Inventory
Advise the Chief Technology Officer with the technology budget and ensure that programs are cost-effective and funds are managed wisely.
Coordinate the purchase of all computer hardware, software, and supplies.
Recommend the disposal and replacement of obsolete equipment when necessary.
Participate in contract negotiations for computer hardware, software, maintenance, and related services.
Approve and forward department invoices and purchase orders to accounting department.
Personnel Management
Develop training options and improvement plans to ensure exemplary operations in the technology area.
Evaluate job performance of employees within supervision to ensure effectiveness.
Recruit, train, and supervise personnel and make sound recommendations relative to personnel placement, transfer, retention, and dismissal in the area of technology.

$102,486 (25-26 Compensation Plan)
