    TOOL ROOM MANAGER NEEDED - LIMA, OHIO AREA

     

    A Leading Automotive Supplier near Lima, Ohio needs a 1st Shift Tool Room Manager. Previous Tool Room Management Experience is Required. Candidates Must be knowledgeable with Metal Stamping Progressive and Transfer Dies. A Journeyman's Card in Tool & Die is strongly preferred. This is a Full Time, Permanent, Direct Hire Position offering Competitive Compensation, Bonus Potential, Good Benefits, Paid Holidays and Paid Vacation.
     

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

       Under the direct supervision of the Engineering Manager, he/she is responsible for supervising, coordinating, and scheduling the Tool Room personnel during the repair and modification of tools, dies, fixtures, gauges, jigs, spare details, and troubleshooting functions, applying knowledge of machining and tool and die construction. 
       Supervises, instructs, and teaches Tool Room personnel about Tool Room and Press Room work.
       Maintains the T.C.O. and preventative maintenance program through interfacing with Tooling and Process Engineers.

    Interface with Engineers and maintenance personnel on the in plant tooling and advanced engineering.

       Order material and tooling details (Die blocks, pilots, and punches) for use in the Tool Room build projects and daily Tool Room maintenance and repair.
       Maintain Tool Room equipment and machinery. Instructs and follow up on in-press room activities.
       Ability to troubleshoot shop floor stamping and press problems & quickly identify necessary countermeasures.
       Enforce safety and sanitary regulations
       Confer with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities including maintenance and production personnel to quickly resolve tooling issues for Press Room and Welding emergency conditions
       Recommend or implement measures to motivate Tool Room personnel and to constantly improve product quality, production methods, equipment reliability, or efficiency
       Has the authority to stop production operations with respect to safety or quality concerns

     

     

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

     

       Preferring a Journeyman s Card in Tool and Die.

       Must have Progressive and Transfer Die Expertise.

       Good Managerial and Leadership Skills Required.

       Must be Hands On the Floor and able to hold others Accountable. 

       Previous Tool Room Management Experience in an Automotive Metal Stamping Plant is Needed.

       Good Verbal & Written Communication Skills, People Oriented & Good Problem Solving Skills.

       Strong Organizational Skills. Ability to Multi-Task and someone who is Computer literate.
