    Job Summary

    The Shipping & Yard Operations Lead is responsible for safely coordinating shipping activities, moving trailers and materials in and around the facility, and supporting efficient yard, dock, and warehouse operations. This role operates yard trucks, forklifts, and related equipment; leads and supports shipping team members; ensures products and equipment are staged, loaded, unloaded, inspected, and documented properly; and helps maintain a safe, organized, and productive work environment.

    Pay: $23 USD/HRLY

    Responsibilities

    • Lead, motivate, and direct shipping team members to execute daily shipping plans and assignments.
    • Operate yard truck, forklift, and related equipment safely to move trailers, EPS material, products, and equipment throughout the yard and facility.
    • Dock, reposition, and move semi-trailers within the yard and shipping areas.
    • Safely load, unload, stack, stage, and move products to assigned areas for shipment, including manual lifting and stacking when needed.
    • Perform pre-operation equipment and safety checks, including lock-out/tag-out procedures where applicable.
    • Inspect tractors, trailers, containers, machinery, products, and equipment to identify damage, shortages, repairs, or quality issues.
    • Perform yard checks, clean out empty trailers, and maintain an orderly shipping and yard environment.
    • Complete delivery forms, shipping paperwork, documentation, and training records accurately.
    • Use chocks, glad locks, and other required safety practices when unloading or securing trailers.
    • Track shipping metrics, organize and track inventory, and support systematic process improvements.
    • Maintain and improve the condition of shipping equipment, yard areas, and facility workspaces.
    • Implement and enforce company safety guidelines, policies, and legal requirements.
    • Recommend improvements to productivity, quality, workflow, and facility operations.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or GED required.
    • Must be at least 18 years of age.
    • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required; CDL-A not required.
    • Previous experience operating a switcher truck or driving a day cab preferred.
    • Minimum of 2 years of forklift operator experience preferred.
    • Ability to lead individuals and teams while maintaining a positive, team-oriented approach.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Organized, reliable, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
    • Ability to work independently with limited supervision and set priorities in a changing environment.
    • Critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and an analytical, structured work approach.
    • High degree of self-motivation, flexibility, and willingness to work outdoors in all weather and driving conditions.

    Physical Demands

    • Position may require periods of intense physical exertion in conditions of low to high temperatures and humidity.
    • Position requires the ability to stand, bend, stretch, climb, reach, and rotate over extended periods during a normal work shift.
    • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds at times.

    Schedule

    • Monday through Friday.
    • Flexibility is required; hours are subject to change based on the production schedule.
