Summary
  • Assist the Powder Coat Operator in preparing surfaces and parts for powder coating applications.
  • Handle cleaning, deburring, washing, and stripping of parts to ensure top-quality finishes.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area while supporting production efficiency.
  • Work collaboratively with the production team to meet quality and shipping deadlines.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare parts for powder coating by washing, cleaning, deburring, and removing old paint.
  • Perform visual inspections to identify and correct defects before coating.
  • Safely operate and maintain tools, equipment, and machinery in the powder coating area.
  • Transport products using pallet jacks or fork trucks to and from production areas.
  • Dispose of chemical waste safely and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.

Requirements
  • Desired Work Experience: Previous experience in manufacturing, production, or coating required.
  • Education Requirements: High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Certifications: Forklift or pallet jack certification preferred (training may be provided).
  • Skills & Qualifications:
    • Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
    • Knowledge of safety practices and willingness to use protective gear (gloves, face shields, etc.).
    • Strong attention to detail, organizational, and teamwork skills.
    • Basic mechanical aptitude or experience with hand tools a plus.

Work Environment & Physical Demands
  • Operates in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, odor, and temperature changes.
  • Requires standing, walking, bending, squatting, and lifting throughout the shift.
  • Occasional overtime may be required based on production needs.
