The Lumper will be responsible for unloading, sorting, and staging goods from incoming trucks. This position plays a critical role in ensuring smooth and efficient operations within the warehouse and distribution center.
Unload & Load Trucks: Assist with unloading goods from inbound trucks and loading goods onto outbound trucks in a safe and efficient manner.
Organize and Sort Inventory: Sort products by category, size, and type, and place them in the appropriate storage locations in the warehouse.
Stacking & Palletizing: Properly stack and palletize merchandise, ensuring that products are safely secured for storage or shipment.
Quality Control: Inspect goods for damage and report any issues to management.
Maintain Safety Standards: Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment.
Assist in Inventory Management: Support the team in regular stock checks and inventory audits.
Housekeeping: Keep work areas clean and organized, removing debris and ensuring safe walking surfaces.
Collaborate with Team: Work alongside other warehouse staff, including material handlers, forklift operators, and supervisors, to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently.
Other duties as assigned: Assist with other warehouse tasks as needed to ensure operational needs are met.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and perform tasks that require physical stamina and movement.
Experience: Previous warehouse or labor experience is preferred but not required.
Skills: Basic knowledge of warehouse safety protocols and equipment. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Work Environment: Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with varying temperatures depending on the warehouse conditions.
Shift Flexibility: Must be willing to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays if necessary.
