Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused 1st Shift Forklift Operator to join our warehouse operations team in Charlotte, NC. This position is responsible for operating forklifts and material handling equipment to move, locate, stack, and count merchandise in a fast-paced warehouse or 3PL environment. The ideal candidate will have prior forklift experience, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to workplace safety.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Operate sit-down, stand-up, reach truck, or cherry picker forklifts safely and efficiently.
Load and unload trailers, containers, and trucks.
Move products throughout the warehouse for storage, picking, and shipping.
Perform inventory transactions using RF scanners and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
Inspect equipment daily and report maintenance or safety issues.
Maintain accurate inventory and assist with cycle counts as needed.
Ensure all freight is handled properly to prevent damage.
Follow OSHA safety regulations and company policies at all times.
Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
Assist with general warehouse duties when needed.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Minimum 1 year of forklift operating experience in a warehouse or distribution environment.
Experience operating reach truck, sit-down, or stand-up forklifts preferred.
Forklift certification preferred or ability to become certified.
Basic computer and RF scanner experience.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the shift.
Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures.
