Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Understand and abide by all Company safety rules, regulations, and policies.
  • Ensure that safe and sanitary working conditions are maintained in the facility in accordance with Company standards, as well as state & federal laws and regulations.
  • Know and understand your OSHA rights.
  • Conduct safety training topics as required or needed.
  • Responsible for attending all assigned safety meetings, toolbox talks, and safety training sessions.
  • As required, promptly investigate accidents and near misses, completing appropriate reports and taking action to eliminate root causes.
  • Report immediately to the Plant Manager, Plant Superintendent, or Shift Supervisor any injury, unsafe act or condition, or any failure of plant equipment.
  • Perform in-process and finished product inspections to ensure they meet Victaulic specifications.
  • Document inspection results by filling out reports and logs, summarizing rework and scrap, and entering data into quality databases.
  • Notify management and supervision of any nonconformances or discrepancies.
  • Actively participate in Scrap Reduction Program (SRP) by performing in-process inspection and pre-production audits as required.
  • Instruct hourly personnel on proper use of computer systems to view and record data for job histories, requirement for jobs, hot inspection checks, etc.
  • Instruct hourly personnel on the proper use of measuring equipment. Confirm its correct use during setup and production.
  • Collaborate with production teams to identify quality issues and implement solutions. Provide feedback and recommendations for improving product quality and manufacturing processes.
  • Assist in training production staff on quality standards, inspection techniques, and company procedures.
  • Perform technical duties or special assignments as assigned by the Plant Manager, Quality Manager, or Plant Superintendent.
  • Possess the authority to make disposition on and release product to next process including release to customer.

Qualifications (education, experience, skills, personal attributes):

  • High School graduate, or equivalent.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a quality-related role preferred.
  • Foundry experience preferred.
  • Read and understand engineering procedures, drawings, dimensions, and tolerances.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects.
  • Knowledge of quality control standards, inspection techniques, and testing methods.
  • Proficiency in using inspection tools and equipment, such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Capable of working varying shifts, as designated, and occasional Saturdays or overtime during the week.
  • Certification in Quality Assurance or Quality Control (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Inspector) is a plus.
