Sigma Defense is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Lead to be responsible for supervising, coordinating, and executing electrical maintenance, repair, and modification tasks on air‑cushion vehicles, aircraft, or naval electrical systems. This role provides hands‑on technical oversight, ensures proper documentation and adherence to established standards, and maintains the safety and reliability of all electrical maintenance activities.

This is a contingent position that is pending award of contract. This means that the position is subject to the successful awarding of a contract and will be confirmed once the contract is finalized. The candidate selected for this role will be offered the position on the condition that the contract is awarded to our organization.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience performing electrical maintenance, repair, or modification on air‑cushion vehicles, aircraft, or U.S. Navy shipboard electrical systems.
  • 5+ years of concurrent experience supervising electrical maintenance and repair on air‑cushion vehicles or aircraft.
  • Thorough understanding of electrical quality control principles and their application to maintenance activities.
  • Mandatory current Level 3 qualification in both IPC‑A‑610 and IPC‑A‑620.
  • Familiarity with J‑STD‑001 requirements.
  • Familiarity with NAVSEA electrical‑related welding and inspection requirements.
  • Familiarity with Electrical‑related Non‑Destructive Testing procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate these standards into daily maintenance operations to ensure consistent, high‑quality electrical repairs.
  • Required experience with the Navy 3-M Preventive Maintenance Program, including proficiency in logging and documentation, accurate recordkeeping, and maintenance scheduling.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise, train, and mentor electrical maintenance personnel.
  • Excellent documentation, communication, and organizational abilities.
  • Strong understanding of troubleshooting techniques, technical documentation, and electrical maintenance best practices.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.

Personnel Clearance Level:

  • Candidate must possess or have the ability to obtain an active Secret security clearance or higher.
  • Clearance may be sponsored for the right candidate.

Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Technical training or education in electrical systems, aviation electrical maintenance, or marine electrical engineering is preferred.

Essential Job Duties (not all-inclusive):

  • Supervise and lead technicians performing electrical troubleshooting, diagnostics, repair, and system modifications on air‑cushion vehicles, aircraft electrical systems, or shipboard electrical equipment.
  • Assign daily tasks, monitor progress, and ensure maintenance actions are performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable technical standards.
  • Guide personnel in resolving complex electrical issues and ensure successful restoration of system functionality.
  • Oversee and execute corrective and preventative maintenance on electrical systems, wiring assemblies, control circuits, power distribution equipment, sensors, and communication components.
  • Perform final inspections, operational tests, and validation checks to ensure repairs are performed correctly and meet required quality standards.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of all electrical maintenance actions, component replacements, and system adjustments.
  • Implement and enforce electrical maintenance quality control measures to ensure consistency, safety, and compliance.
  • Apply and integrate required workmanship and inspection standards, including:
    • IPC‑A‑610 (Level 3)
    • IPC‑A‑620 (Level 3)
    • J‑STD‑001
  • Identify quality discrepancies, analyze root causes, and lead corrective actions to improve electrical maintenance processes and ensure sustained compliance.
  • Preventative Maintenance & 3‑M Program Management.
  • Utilize the Navy 3‑M Preventative Maintenance Program to plan, schedule, document, and verify all electrical maintenance tasks.
  • Ensure maintenance index pages, system documentation, and electronic records are completed accurately and in compliance with maintenance management requirements.
  • Train electrical personnel in the correct use of 3‑M tools, documentation procedures, and reporting expectations.
  • Enforce electrical safety protocols, lockout/tagout practices, and equipment handling procedures to prevent hazards and ensure a safe work environment.
  • Conduct safety inspections, identify potential risks in electrical maintenance workflows, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure all team members understand and follow electrical safety standards, protective equipment requirements, and hazard controls.
  • Mentor junior electricians and technicians to develop technical skills, troubleshooting proficiency, and adherence to quality standards.
  • Support the tracking of certifications, qualifications, and technical competency development.
  • Foster a culture of precision, accountability, and continuous improvement within the electrical maintenance team.

Salary Range: $51,000 - $61,000 annually.
