Summary:

The Import Coordinator supports the day-to-day import processes of the operations. Coordinates inbound shipments and import documentation to ensure timely, compliant movement of goods through ports, customs, and warehouse distribution operations. Ensuring customer shipments reach the right destination on time and on budget. Partners with carriers, brokers, vendors, and internal teams to resolve shipment issues, track inventory flow, and support efficient warehouse operations.

 

What You'll Do:

  • Updates import customer manifest with accurate shipping details.
  • Traces incoming import shipments and updates system accordingly.
  • Updates Customs releases after verifying the accuracy of clearance documents presented.
  • Responds to customer inquiries regarding shipment status.
  • Resolve problems concerning operational import issues.
  • Acts as liaison between customer and warehouse operations for details on physical freight.
  • Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintain them over time.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

What You'll Bring:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • The equivalent of 2 - 4 years of logistics experience preferred, including mentoring experience
  • Knowledge of principles and methods related to the import of goods by air, rail, sea, or road, including the relative costs and benefits
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and employees
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Hands-on proficiency with WMS software required. Experience with Cargo Manager preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

 

Travel:

  • Occasional local travel may be required
