1342 - REQ - Software Engineer - Level 2 (Testing Focus Washington, DC (onsite) 5+ Year Contract Summary Client is seeking experienced Software Engineers II to support software development and full lifecycle testing of mission systems within the FURIOUSRAPTOR program. This role focuses on software test engineering in a secure, on-site SCIF environment supporting mission-critical systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in software testing, automation, systems integration, and mission system support, with strong expertise in Python-based test automation, Linux environments, and Agile software development practices. An active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph is required prior to consideration. Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain test plans, test cases, and automated test processes across the software development lifecycle Build and maintain automated test frameworks and test environments, primarily using Python Execute Integration & Testing (I&T), Acceptance Testing, and end-to-end systems testing Perform performance, load, stress, security, user interface, data interface, and systems integration testing Analyze code coverage metrics and support defect identification and resolution Document test results, track software defects, and support issue resolution workflows Support installation, configuration, maintenance, and enhancement of software applications, Linux/UNIX systems, and network-connected components Analyze user and system requirements to support software design and implementation Develop, modify, integrate, and debug software applications and system components Design and implement algorithms, interfaces, and data queries to support mission requirements Collaborate with software, systems, hardware, infrastructure, and test engineering teams throughout development and deployment activities Participate in Agile ceremonies, code reviews, sprint planning, and technical design reviews Contribute to software documentation, quality control activities, and process improvement initiatives Provide technical leadership and support to software development teams as needed Requirements Active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph required prior to start Ability to work fully on-site in a SCIF environment in Columbia, MD or Annapolis Junction, MD Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent additional experience 14+ years of Software Engineering experience supporting programs of similar scope and complexity At least 6 years of experience focused on software testing, including test automation, I&T, Acceptance Testing, or systems integration testing Experience developing and maintaining automated test capabilities using Python Hands-on experience with performance, load, stress, security, UI, and data interface testing Experience with code coverage tools and defect tracking systems such as JIRA or Git-based workflows Experience supporting Linux/UNIX systems, software applications, and connected network environments Proficiency in one or more programming languages including C, C++, or Java Scripting experience using Python, Bash, or Perl Experience working within Agile software development environments Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skill Metasys Technologies is an equal opportunity employer.
