Location: Fort Meade, MD (Onsite)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Clearance: Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph (Required)

We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer (Level 3) to support a mission-critical program within the Intelligence Community. This role operates across the full systems engineering lifecycle, supporting design, integration, testing, and sustainment of complex classified systems in a secure environment.
This position is fully onsite within a SCIF and requires an active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph prior to consideration.

Responsibilities

Systems Engineering
  • Support all phases of the systems engineering lifecycle from concept through sustainment
  • Translate mission requirements into system designs and technical solutions
  • Develop technical documentation including system architectures, ICDs, and test plans
  • Participate in design reviews and technical meetings
  • Support configuration management and system baseline control
Linux Systems Engineering
  • Install, configure, and manage Linux environments (RHEL, CentOS, Rocky Linux)
  • Maintain authentication systems including FreeIPA and Active Directory integration
  • Manage system performance, patching, and lifecycle operations
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting across Linux systems
Infrastructure Support (STE/STN)
  • Install and maintain secure communications infrastructure (STE/STN)
  • Support provisioning, troubleshooting, and system integration in classified environments
  • Maintain inventory and documentation of infrastructure components
GOTS Software Support
  • Install, configure, and maintain government-provided software
  • Perform patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management
  • Support integration and issue resolution with stakeholders
Automation and Scripting
  • Develop and maintain scripts in Bash and Python
  • Automate system monitoring, configuration, and operational workflows
Testing and Troubleshooting
  • Execute system-level testing and validation activities
  • Troubleshoot complex, multi-component systems
  • Support system readiness and deployment activities

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 8+ years of systems engineering experience in DoD or Intelligence Community environments
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph (required)
  • Strong experience with Linux systems (RHEL, CentOS, Rocky Linux)
  • Experience with identity management (FreeIPA and/or Active Directory)
  • Hands-on experience with STE/STN infrastructure
  • Experience supporting GOTS software
  • Proficiency in Bash and/or Python scripting
  • Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with virtualization or containerization (VMware, Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Familiarity with storage solutions (NAS, SAN, Ceph)
  • Experience with automation tools (Ansible, SaltStack)
  • Knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps practices
  • Experience working in air-gapped environments
  • DoD 8140/8570 IAT Level II certification
