Job Title: 11101 - Travel: Clinical Laboratory Scientist II

Hourly Pay Rate: $46.80

Job Description:
We are urgently seeking a highly skilled Clinical Laboratory Scientist II to join our team. This position involves performing a wide range of routine and complex laboratory procedures, including specimen processing, testing of patient samples, quality control, instrument maintenance, and troubleshooting. Candidates must demonstrate excellent transfusion service (blood banking) skills. Responsibilities include operating laboratory instruments, documenting results, utilizing Laboratory Information Systems, and ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards. The role may require performing phlebotomy and other patient-oriented tasks, as well as contributing to the development of new testing protocols. Cross-training in various laboratory sections is encouraged to ensure flexibility and comprehensive service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct routine and complex lab procedures accurately and efficiently.
  • Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory equipment.
  • Follow and document quality control procedures.
  • Calculate, verify, and report test results.
  • Process patient specimens with attention to special considerations for pediatric samples.
  • Participate in development and validation of new testing methods.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards.
  • Communicate critical results promptly and accurately.
  • Assist in maintaining laboratory documentation and information systems.

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution, or equivalent training per CLIA 42CFR493.1489.
  • Certification as MT, MLS, CLS, or MLT from ASCP, AMT, AAB, or HEW/HHS, maintained current.
  • Prior experience or approved clinical training, including blood banking, microbiology, chemistry, hematology, immunology, urinalysis, or body fluids.
  • Ability to perform phlebotomy and patient care tasks if required.
  • Strong transfusion service (blood banking) skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Work Schedule:
  • 5 Days a week, 8 Hours per day (Shift: 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM)
