Exchange Officer
Location: Ocean County, NJ (Onsite)
Compensation: $60K–$85K (DOE)
Schedule: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (flexibility required to complete closings)

Position Overview

The Exchange Officer will serve as the primary point of contact for clients, managing and coordinating all phases of 1031 exchange transactions. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple timelines in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all phases of 1031 exchange transactions from start to finish
  • Serve as the main point of contact for clients, ensuring a high level of service and communication
  • Manage client accounts, timelines, and critical deadlines (45-day identification / 180-day exchange periods)
  • Coordinate with closing agents, attorneys, and third parties
  • Oversee fund transfers and ensure compliance with IRS regulations
  • Resolve transaction issues and ensure smooth closings
  • Maintain accurate documentation and assist with drafting related transaction paperwork

Qualifications

  • 1–2+ years of experience in banking, financial services, or a client-facing role
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously
  • Detail-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Willingness to learn and be trained in 1031 exchange processes
