PRIMARY FUNCTION: Record keeping of student attendance, student records, report cards, student scheduling.

PAY GRADE: N-188- Grade 4 - Salary Range: $24,300.00 to $36,893.00. Salary placement will be based on Douglas County Board of Education approved salary schedules and years of verified experience.

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 188 Days (10 Months)

REPORTS TO: Principal

EDUCATION LEVEL: High School Diploma.

CERTIFICATION/LICENSE: Current CPR and AED Certification.

EXPERIENCE: None

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities. Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body; sedentary work involves sitting most of the time; jobs are sedentary if working and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.

PROFICIENT SKILLS: Ability to organize multiple tasks and prioritize demands; ability to relate to school-age children and skill in communicating with parents and adults; student management, communication, instructional assistance to students which supports classroom instruction; record keeping, general knowledge of office equipment; maintain confidentiality of records; ability to communicate in a professional manner with students, parents, staff and community both orally and in writing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Essential duties are assigned to the 10-Month Office Clerk based on the needs of the school and may vary from one school to another.

  • Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.
  • Assists and maintains general operating procedures of the office including daily records, permanent records, schedules, public relations, as well as meets the needs of students on a daily basis.
  • Exhibits professionalism in all job related situations and follows professional ethics in all work related activities.
  • Communicates responsibility with all individuals and groups.
  • Adheres to local school procedures and regulations in a supportive manner.
  • Manages the Opportunity Room.
  • Assists students in writing an explanation of their inappropriate behavior and developing plans for eliminating inappropriate behavior.
  • Encourages students to stay on task and complete their assignments.
  • Communicates with the Principal and with the students' teachers when there is a need for additional help.
  • Keeps statistical data, records and evaluations on each student assigned to the OR Room.
  • Completes a monthly and annual report on total students assigned, the totals for each discipline code, the discipline code, the discipline response and unduplicated.
  • Displays a positive attitude and enjoys working with students.
  • Seeks guidance from the Health Services Coordinator.
  • Participates in training, in-service, and learning opportunities including a minimum of 12 hours of approved staff development training in health related issues per school year.
  • Assists with student medications in accordance with school system guidelines.
  • Provides basic first aid to students following school system guidelines.
  • Notifies parents of sick/injured students.
  • Maintains health records according to policies and directives.
  • Maintains clean and orderly clinic area.
  • Maintains clinic supplies.
  • Performs necessary health related procedures when designated by Principal and properly trained by Health Services Coordinator.
  • Communicates with Principal and Health Services Coordinator on matters pertaining to health concerns in the school.
  • Maintains confidentiality of individual student health information.
  • Will be able to locate, refer to, and insert appropriate updates to school health manual.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by appropriate administrator.
