EMPLOYMENT: Based on teacher's salary schedule and approved
Supplement; employment term of 250 days
FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:
- Oversees the recruitment and retention of all school district personnel
- Ensures that evaluations of employees and substitutes are conducted, recorded and maintained; provides support for employee improvement plans as applicable
- Compiles and revises the personnel handbooks Develops personnel procedures and
protocol as necessary for the school district
- Screens and processes application of candidates and ensures that all files on prospective and current employees are current and accurate
- Schedules and processes, to the Superintendent, applicants for appointment and for presentation to the Board of Education
- Receives, reviews and processes transfers, reduction-in-force, and non-renewal of probationary contracts in accordance with transfer regulations and the needs of the school district
- Screens and selects qualified substitute personnel and maintains a register of substitutes
- Counsels employees to resolve complaints, difficulties, grievances, and other matters related to personnel management; works with principals on difficult or sensitive personnel matters
- Processes recommendations for the Superintendent's consideration for discipline up to and including termination of employees, assembles information for dismissal, and arranges any necessary conferences and hearings
- Creates job descriptions for new staff positions and coordinates the periodic review and revision of existing job descriptions
- Works cooperatively with all departments regarding personnel issues
- Assembles documents requiring the Superintendent's review, including contracts, certificates and licensure and correspondence
- Arranges and conducts new professional and service personnel orientation meetings
- Reviews staff development records annually for compliance with staff development requirements
- Receives, reviews, and maintains employee requests under American with Disabilities Act, Federal Medical Leave Act, educational leaves, and other related requests for the Superintendent's consideration
- Conducts written testing of all service personnel substitute applicants
- Maintains all school district policies and administrative regulations at the direction of the
Superintendent
- Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as the superintendent
