As a Senior Scientist you must demonstrate a broad and in-depth knowledge of pre-formulation/formulation and characterization to evaluate the developability of various biologics modalities covered by Novartis Biomedical Research and Development units, ranging from traditional antibodies to advanced biologics formats and mixed modalities. You will help shape the overall formulation strategy for large biomolecules before the project transition from research into early phase development and help funnel out unfavorable candidates with respect to formulation assessment. About the Role
Key Responsibilities:Perform pre-formulation assessment for large biotherapeutics focusing on recombinant monoclonal antibodies, multispecific antibodies and other therapeutic proteins, including but not limited to solubility assessment,Set-up of formulation screening studies, performing biophysical characterization methods such as DSC/DSF, dynamic light scattering (DLS), UV-Vis, turbidity, sub visible particle assessment, viscosity and other techniques that are LC based method (SEC, HIC) for characterizing therapeutic proteins.Lead screening experiments to identify stable formulations, and collaborate results and designs independently to research and development organizationsUtilize state-of-the-art liquid handlers for compounding of formulations for large biotherapeutics to conduct stability studies on themConduct physico-chemical analytics methods for characterization of various formats of biotherapeutics in screening, pre-formulation development and lead optimization stagesOperate and maintain instrumentations, perform data analysis and ELN documentation, and author method development and technical reports.Work in a highly interdisciplinary and collaborative environment as part of the global teams and contribute to data analysis and interpretation, making technical presentations and report writing Minimum Requirements - What you will bring to the roleMSc degree in biochemistry, biotechnology, chemistry or a related field with at least 3 year of relevant work experience, or BSc University degree in biochemistry, biotechnology, chemistry or a related field with with at least 6 years of relevant work experienceHands-on experience with protein drug delivery and characterizationDemonstrated technical understanding and expertise in the field of formulation sciences of large biotherapeutic moleculesDemonstrated expertise with hands-on experience of setting up preformulation assessments and use of different stability indicating assays such as SEC/CE/DLS (including but not limited to) to interpret the formulation studies dataHigh learning ability to acquire expertise in new technologies and technical equipmentProven experience in successfully prioritizing and keeping timelinesOpen and proactive communication, strong customer focus, ability to interact with various stakeholdersReliable and flexible team player, accustomed to sharing tasks and projectsFluency in English (oral/written) Kljune odgovornosti: Izvajanje predformulacijskih analiz za bioterapevtike s poudarkom na rekombinantnih monoklonskih protitelesih, multispecifinih protitelesih in drugih terapevtskih proteinih, vkljuno, vendar ne omejeno na oceno topnosti. Upravljanje in vzdrevanje instrumentov, izvajanje analize podatkov in dokumentacije v ELN ter priprava poroil o razvoju metod in tehninih poroil. Delo v izrazito interdisciplinarnem in sodelovalnem okolju kot del globalnih ekip ter prispevanje k analizi in interpretaciji podatkov, pripravi tehninih predstavitev in pisanju poroil. Minimalne zahteve - kaj prinaate v vlogo Univerzitetna izobrazba / magisterij (MSc) iz biokemije, biotehnologije, kemije ali sorodnega podroja z najmanj 3 leti ustreznih delovnih izkuenj; ali Visokoolska izobrazba (BSc) iz biokemije, biotehnologije, kemije ali sorodnega podroja z najmanj 6 leti ustreznih delovnih izkuenj. Praktine izkunje z dostavo in karakterizacijo biolokih zdravil. Dokazano tehnino razumevanje in strokovno znanje na podroju formulacijskih znanosti bioterapevtskih molekul. Dokazano strokovno znanje in praktine izkunje z vzpostavljanjem predformulacijskih ocen ter uporabo razlinih stabilnostno indikativnih testov, kot so SEC/CE/DLS, med drugim, za interpretacijo podatkov iz formulacijskih tudij. Visoka sposobnost uenja za pridobivanje strokovnega znanja o novih tehnologijah in tehnini opremi. Dokazane izkunje z uspenim doloanjem prioritet in upotevanjem asovnic.
