Description: 0.2 FTE High School Guidance Counselor
Job Summary:
- Work collaboratively within the guidance department to support students' academic planning, goal setting, and postsecondary planning.
- Plan and coordinate support systems for communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict resolution.
- Provide responsive services to address immediate student needs.
- Engage parents in the educational experience of students and in postsecondary planning.
- Collaborate with administrators, teachers, families, and other counselors to design and coordinate guidance services appropriate to and supportive of individual students.
- Participate in regular PLC meetings as an active and engaged professional.
- Communicate frequently with parents, colleagues, students, and administrators through all available means of technology.
- Establish and maintain high standards for character and academic growth.
Qualifications:
- Current Minnesota K-12 Guidance and Counseling License required.
- High level of career and college readiness expertise required.
- Demonstrated ability to support student social/emotional and academic needs.
- Experience working with high school students preferred.
- Effective organizational skills and ability to support student scheduling.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience in collaboration and problem-solving.
- Experience with curriculum and assessment design.
- Understanding of the role of parent involvement and the ability to collaborate with parents.
- Ability to use technology as an instructional tool.
