Position Summary...
The Director, Regional People (Sam's Club) is a strategic, outcome-driven leader responsible for translating business priorities into people strategies that drive measurable impact across talent, culture, and organizational effectiveness.
This role partners closely with regional operational leadership to shape decisions, elevate leadership capability, and ensure consistent execution of enterprise people priorities in the field. The Director leverages data, insights, and field engagement to diagnose organizational needs, influence leadership actions, and drive sustained improvements in business performance, associate experience, and workforce effectiveness.
This role brings the voice of the associate into leadership discussions, ensuring decisions reflect the realities of the field and drive meaningful improvements in engagement, retention, and overall experience. Beyond partnership, this role holds accountability for raising the bar on leadership standards, strengthening talent pipelines, and embedding a culture of ownership, feedback, and continuous improvement across the region.

The team leads enterprise priorities across leadership development, associate experience, workforce strategy, and organizational transformation, ensuring they are translated into practical, scalable solutions in the field. Through strong cross-functional partnership, the team drives alignment between enterprise strategy and field execution.
Success in this team requires curiosity, critical thinking, and a bias for action-combined with a clear focus on outcomes, accountability, and developing leaders at every level of the organization.

Minimum Qualifications: BA/BS degree in an HR related field (e.g., Business Administration, Human Resource Development, Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations/Labor Relations, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Management, Organizational Development/Organizational Behavior) and 5 years HR Generalist or Specialist experience supporting a multi-unit/multi-business environment OR 8 years of HR experience with at least 4 years experience as an HR generalist supporting a multi-unit/multi-business environment OR 4 years of Wal-Mart Manager-level experience leading an operational unit with responsibility for supervising other salaried managers (e.g., Compensation, Learning and Development, Benefits, Organizational Development, Logistics, HR Strategy, Operations, Communications). Valid driver's license.
