    Sr Avionics Engineer - FAA Cert - MN & OH area - Nov 2024-1901

    Our client is a global leader and specialist in developing and integrating aerospace systems and is looking for an Avionics Engineer to support FAA Certification activities. This position is onsite in MN or OH. It is desirable that the candidate has a strong previous Avionics experience working with the FAA regarding certification activities.

    Role Description & Primary Duties

    The Avionics Engineer's work will involve hands-on work including designing, building, and testing analog and digital circuit boards, building test stands, running experiments, qualifying hardware, and troubleshooting.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Avionics experience working with the FAA regarding certification activities
    • Prior Experience with Design electronics circuitry to support Power Electronics products.
    • Experience withDesign digital circuitry - DSP, FPGA and ASIC.
    • Experience with Prototyping and verification of the design and creating HW/SW integration.
    • Experience with Design and layout of the electronic board.
    • Experience with Troubleshoot, validation and verification of the board from the component level to the system level.
    • Experience with Analysis, simulations, prototyping and debug.
    • Experience Developing specifications and trade off analysis.
    • Experience with Support failure investigation processes.
    • Experience with Working closely with manufacturing during new product introduction and provide support for product release, tooling, testing solutions, troubleshooting and continuous engineering.
    • Experience with Work with and support mechanical, electrical, software, hardware, test, motor, and specialty engineers to facilitate integration testing.
    • Experience with Material support with vendor selection and alternative solutions.

    Requirements for Sr Avionics Certification Engineer:

    • BS or MS degree in electrical engineering / power electronics with at least 10+ years of related experience with the FAA regarding certification activities
    • Knowledge of aerospace standards as DO-254 and DO-160 and MIL-STD.
    • Electronics troubleshooting skills.
    • Hands on experience in designing electronics for mixed signal embedded systems
    • Proven experience in product design lifecycle, including taking hardware designs to manufacturing successfully.
    • Experience working with firmware engineers
