Production Technician

Responsible for preparing batches of raw materials for production processing according to specifications and established procedures. Cleans and sanitizes processing equipment, tanks, filters, pipes, lines and pumps. Completes all documentation accurately and in accordance with GMP.

Also, responsible for the day to day operation of automated manufacturing machines, including the efficient and timely set up of all jobs as well as tooling, troubleshooting and routine maintenance. Has the capability to set up and operate any machine for any manufacturing job. Fully trained on FDA standards and requirements.

Maintains regular attendance and punctuality in order to perform tasks related to daily production demands. This position performs all hours onsite and at all assigned physical locations of operations. Follows all safety rules and regulations; wears and/or uses required protective equipment while working; immediately reports any safety concerns or unsafe working conditions to Operations management. Conducts all aspects of job responsibilities in compliance with the JM Murray mission statement, policies and procedures, professional standards, and applicable governmental laws, rules and regulations.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Mixing and blending: Accurately weighing and combining raw ingredients according to specific formulas and batch records.
2. Equipment operation: Operating and cleaning specialized equipment, such as mixers, blenders, and filtration systems.
3. Quality control: Monitoring production processes, verifying measurements and ingredient ratios, and collaborating with quality control teams to address any deviations.
4. Documentation: Maintaining detailed and accurate records of all batch production, procedures, and results.
5. Safety and sanitation: Adhering to all safety protocols and GMP guidelines, and sanitizing and preparing equipment according to quality standards.
6. Material handling: Moving and transferring raw materials and finished products, which may require lifting heavy containers.
7. Required to wear PPE as per job duties, e.g. respirator, hairnet, etc.

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:

8. Sets up and operates manufacturing machines and equipment including, but not limited to, automated manufacturing machines, injection mold machines, liquid fill machines, shrink wrappers, digital scales, pallet jacks, etc.
9. Troubleshoots and performs routine maintenance, as required.
10. Loads/unloads machines and makes all required adjustments.
11. Performs 1st piece inspection and qualifies set up for production. Additionally, performs all designed quality controls checks recording findings in the quality control records.
12. Responsible for the output and quality of products produced by the machine and by others.

13. Maintains required documentation including FDA packets. Reviews batch records and reconciles jobs.
14. Oversees/coordinates the work of Manufacturing Team Members (MTM), as assigned.
15. Performs and documents time studies.
16. Provides back up to MTM as assigned.
17. Participates and completes all assigned training. Provides training and assistance to other MTM and MSO as necessary.
18. Maintains a clean and clutter free work environment.
19. When assigned, requisitions needed parts for jobs, performs material handling functions in work areas including but not limited to moving raw materials to production areas, transferring finished goods as needed, etc.

20. Represents JM Murray and the JM Murray mission in a positive manner, treating people with dignity and respect.
21. Performs additional duties and responsibilities, as assigned.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or GED, with a technical or vocational background being a plus.

Previous experience in a manufacturing, compounding, or quality control environment

Familiarity with compounding procedures and legal/regulatory compliance standards

1 yr. experience with machine operation and/or a production environment preferred

Knowledge and Skills:

Basic reading and comprehension skills and the ability to follow written instructions are required

Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)

The ability to be highly accurate in measurements and to follow complex instructions precisely is critical.

Basic computer skills for data entry and utilizing reports

Ability to follow verbal instructions and return communication

Other Requirements:

Required to pass annual mask fitting test

Working Conditions:

Job assignments primarily may take place indoors. Assignments may take place in different locations of the production floor or in another JM Murray location.
