The Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) plays a critical leadership role—ensuring full regulatory, legal, and compliance oversight of the pharmacy while also working hands-on as a Staff Pharmacist.
You’ll serve as the pharmacist of record with state and federal agencies, ensuring operations meet all laws, regulations, accreditation standards, and company policies.
This is the perfect blend of leadership + clinical practice.
While driving compliance, you’ll also stay connected to patient care—supporting daily dispensing, clinical review, and pharmacist coverage to ensure safe, accurate, and timely medication delivery.

Responsibilities:
What You’ll Do
️ Regulatory & Compliance Leadership
- Serve as the designated PIC per state requirements
- Ensure compliance with DEA, Board of Pharmacy, and all regulatory bodies
- Maintain licenses, permits, and controlled substance registrations
- Lead audits, inspections & plans of correction
- Stay ahead of regulatory changes and guide the team
- 欄 Partner with leadership, compliance, and quality teams
Staff Pharmacist Responsibilities
- Verify and interpret medication orders for accuracy & safety
- Collaborate with prescribers to clarify therapies
- 離 Monitor labs, therapies, and patient outcomes
- ️ Final verification before dispensing
- Provide clinical guidance to staff and patients
- Support workflow to ensure timely medication delivery
欄 Operational & Team Support
- Support efficient, compliance-driven workflows
- Train and mentor pharmacists & technicians
- Participate in on-call coverage as needed
- Identify process improvements and drive efficiency
Qualifications:
Qualifications
Required:
- PharmD from an accredited college
- Active pharmacist licenses: Missouri & Kansas
- Prior PIC or regulatory leadership experience
- 3+ years in institutional pharmacy
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy regulations
- Comfortable with pharmacy systems & Microsoft Office
Preferred:
- Long-term care pharmacy experience
- Audit, inspection, or accreditation experience
- Knowledge of quality & compliance programs
