Minimum Requirements:

• Title: Lifeguard • Minimum Age: 15 • Education / Experience: American Red Cross Lifeguard Training; First Aid training; CPR/AED for Professional Rescue • Salary Range (hourly): $16.05 - $21.71

Lifeguard/Instructor I:

• Same as Lifeguard plus WSIA • Salary Range (hourly): $16.86 - $22.80

Lifeguard/Instructor II:

• Same as Lifeguard plus WSI • Salary Range (hourly): $17.70 - $23.94

Schedules:

Vary with shifts ranging from pool opening (5:00 am) to closing (10:00pm)

Essential Required Tasks/Examples of Duties:

• Monitors all areas of the pool, effectively enforces pool rules and regulations, and reacts proactively to prevent accidents, injuries, and incidents. • Responds and reacts effectively and efficiently to emergency situations. • Actively assists in daily maintenance and cleaning of the pools, locker rooms, decks, and surrounding areas of the facility. • Attends and participates in all training sessions. Maintains all required skills and certifications. • Completes necessary paperwork including but not limited to accident reports, cleaning and maintenance logs, attendance logs and class certificates. • Assists with opening and closing procedures and transitions in pools. Takes care of equipment and stores equipment properly. • Takes proper safety precautions, anticipates unsafe conditions, uses all required and appropriate safety equipment. • Uses PPE and follows proper protocol and procedures when cleaning up bodily fluids and other biohazard material and bloodborne pathogens. • Provides ongoing customer service. • Wears and maintains appropriate uniform. • Communicates, answers questions, and responds appropriately with internal and external staff, supervisors, customers, and user groups.

Lifeguard/Instructor I or II (Performs the following additional duties):

Teaches swimming lessons and other aquatic programs and classes to persons of all ages and ability levels. Teaches according to curriculum and objectives.

Necessary Special Requirements:

New hires must, as a condition of employment, pass the following pre-offer and post-offer/hire processes:

Must be 15 years of age.
