(Korean Bilngual) Commercial Loan Officer / Underwriter (Junior & Senior)

About the Role

A bank is hiring Commercial Loan Officers / Underwriters (Junior and Senior levels, 2 openings) for its loan center in Duluth, GA. This role supports the Loan Center Manager with day-to-day loan center operations, underwrites and reviews commercial credits, monitors the existing portfolio for compliance and risk, supports lending staff, and helps implement marketing strategies to meet customer needs and loan center goals.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Review credit memorandums for new, renewal, extension, and modification of existing commercial loans.
  
• Make preliminary decisions on credit memorandums and inquiries for new applicants at the GA loan center.
  
• Monitor the existing portfolio to ensure covenant compliance and appropriate risk ratings, minimizing the number and balance of defaults through ongoing review and communication with borrowers and guarantors.
  
• Support lending staff on lending-related matters, including underwriting, customer service, decision-making, loan structuring, and loan monitoring.
  
• Partner with loan staff to develop effective marketing strategies to localize bank products.
  
• Ensure compliance with operating policies, procedures, and outside regulatory requirements, and provide periodic reports to management.
  

Required Qualifications

By level:

• Junior: entry-level (0-2 years of experience).
  
• Senior: 2+ years of commercial lending experience or similar.
  

Common:

• Strong understanding of financial statements, credit modeling, and lending.
  
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and loan underwriting tools.
  
• Experience with marketing.
  
• Bilingual in English and Korean.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience at a bank or financial institution serving Korean-affiliated customers.

• Salary: starting at $50,000+ per year; up to $90,000 for applicants with 3+ years of experience. Actual cap depends on experience and is negotiable.
