About the Role

A global logistics and supply chain company is seeking a Korean bilingual HR Manager for its Fontana, CA operation. This role owns California employment law compliance, with a strong emphasis on wage and hours practices and PAGA risk prevention. It suits a self-directed HR professional who can research legal requirements, assess exposure, and implement defensible solutions with minimal oversight while advising operational leadership.



Requirements

Key Responsibilities

- Research, interpret, and apply California employment law, with emphasis on wage and hour compliance and PAGA risk prevention

- Conduct internal audits covering exempt and non-exempt classification, timekeeping and overtime practices, wage statement compliance, meal and rest break adherence, and payroll accuracy

- Identify potential PAGA exposure and recommend corrective action before risk escalates

- Review employee classifications under California duties test and salary basis standards

- Audit timekeeping systems for off-the-clock work risk

- Lead complex employee relations investigations and maintain legally defensible documentation

- Draft precise disciplinary and employment documentation

- Advise management on termination risk, retaliation exposure, and high-risk employment decisions

- Develop and revise HR policies in line with evolving California labor regulations

- Maintain HRIS data integrity and produce compliance reporting

- Monitor legal updates and evaluate operational impact independently

- Implement process improvements that reduce liability and improve efficiency

 

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field

- 5+ years of progressive HR experience in California

- Bilingual in Korean and English

- Hands-on experience with California wage and hour compliance, including meal and rest break requirements

- Working knowledge of PAGA risk factors and preventative compliance strategy

- Experience reviewing payroll and timekeeping practices

- Experience conducting workplace investigations and drafting compliant documentation

- Proven ability to manage employee relations and compliance matters independently

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with Excel required

- Experience with HRIS systems

- Strong written grammar and professional drafting skills, with discretion handling confidential matters
