Responsibilities:
- Promotes the school and the LHS and CTEi principals' vision for improving instruction and student achievement within the Culture of Achievement.
- Participate in interviews for teacher candidates.
- Attend part of new teacher orientation and actively participate in acclimation and onboarding of new staff.
- Meets regularly with department members to conduct or lead department activities such as common planning, curriculum review, budget preparation, data analysis, and collaboration.
- Attends Instructional Leadership Team Meetings; assists with the development and implementation of school-wide and department-specific initiatives.
- Shares feedback on curriculum, instructional, assessment, and student support practices with department members through collaborative professional development activities such as PLCs and Learning Walks.
- Submits the department budget to the principal
- Annually reviews with the department and updates the Program of Studies.
- Recommends course assignments to the principal.
- Maintains an inventory of department resources.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years teaching experience
- Masters degree preferred
- Hold current DESE licensure
- Record of student success
- Professional Teacher Status
